Our Courses

Navigation for Women offers a variety of navigation courses in the beautiful Peak District. We specialise in complete beginners and women who would like to improve their confidence in the outdoors. Our one and two-day courses are limited to  6 to 8 participants so you'll never feel overwhelmed or lost in the crowd. If you prefer learning with a group of friends or colleagues, we can create tailor-made courses for small groups and individuals.

In the age of GPS technology it is easy to lose sight of the need for map and compass skills but they really do remain essential for safety in the hills. A GPS is a welcome addition to these skills but should never be seen as a replacement. A sound knowledge of how to use both a map and compass are vital for anyone venturing out into the hills.

All courses are non-residential. Accommodation, travel, food and drink are not included although we will send a list of local accommodation should you need it. For the NNAS Bronze and Silver courses, the first morning and part of the second morning is spent indoors learning the theory in a comfortable environment. We then head out to put this learning into practice.

Contact us  if you have any questions or would like to enquire about alternative dates for the courses listed. We are always happy to try to accommodate your requests.
